Mental Health Conditions in Women

Psychotherapy is provided as a primary form of treatment for personality disorders, which are characterized by maladaptive patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaviour that persist over time. Various psychotherapeutic approaches are utilized to address the specific symptoms and underlying causes of different personality disorders.

For example, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is effective in treating borderline personality disorder, focusing on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) targets problematic thinking patterns in disorders such as narcissistic or obsessive-compulsive personality disorder.

Additionally, psychodynamic therapy explores unconscious conflicts and longstanding patterns in disorders like avoidant or dependent personality disorder. Psychotherapy for personality disorders aims to promote self-awareness, develop healthier coping skills, improve social functioning, and enhance overall well-being.

Depression, Anxiety and Bipolar disorders

Psychotherapy, in addition to Psychiatric treatment, is an effective treatment for depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. It involves a collaborative process between a trained therapist and an individual experiencing these mental health conditions. In the case of depression, psychotherapy helps individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns, explore underlying emotions, and develop coping skills.

For anxiety disorders, therapy focuses on reducing excessive worry, managing physical symptoms, and addressing underlying worries. In bipolar disorder, psychotherapy aims to manage mood fluctuations, enhance medication adherence, and establish healthy routines. Various evidence-based modalities, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy, are commonly utilized to address these specific conditions.

Psychotherapy has been shown to reduce symptom severity, enhance coping skills, and improve overall functioning in individuals with these psychiatric disorders.

Psycho-Sexologist

Psycho-sexology, an interdisciplinary field combining elements of psychology and sexual medicine, focuses on the psychological aspects of human sexuality. This field examines the intersections of biology, psychology, and social factors that influence sexual behaviour, attitudes, and functioning. Psycho-sexologists aim to evaluate and address sexual dysfunctions, disorders, sexual identity and conflicts through assessment, diagnosis, and therapy.

They employ a variety of techniques, including psychoeducation, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and interpersonal therapy, to help individuals and couples overcome obstacles that may interfere with their sexual wellness and satisfaction. Psycho-sexology provides a comprehensive approach that recognizes the complex nature of human sexuality and aims to improve sexual health, well-being, and overall quality of life.

Relationship Therapy

Also known as couples therapy or marriage counseling, is a form of psychotherapy that aims to improve and resolve issues within romantic relationships. This specialized form of therapy focuses on enhancing communication, strengthening emotional bonds, and resolving conflicts between partners.

Relationship therapists employ various techniques and strategies such as active listening, mediation, and problem-solving exercises to facilitate understanding and promote healthy relationship dynamics. Additionally, they may address specific issues such as infidelity, trust issues, or sexual dissatisfaction.

The ultimate goal of relationship therapy is to help couples develop and maintain satisfying and fulfilling relationships while equipping them with the necessary tools for effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.

This is the best mental health clinic in the country. The facilities are out of this world, the food that we had while admitted was the best.

The health professionals were the best. If you need to reset, if you feel as though things are heavy on you ask your medical Practitioner to do a referral for you.

When it's time for you to be discharged you won't want to go home.

The person who built this facility deserves all the blessings.

Very friendly, approachable staff. CEO visits each and every table herself during lunch for feedback. They cater for individualised and special meals. The clinic has its own private vehicles to transport patients to Pretoria East Hospital, Wilgers Hospital for specialist referrals and radiological investigations.

The clinic has a gymnasium and a big physiotherapy section. One-to-one private sessions with an occupational therapist, social worker, or pastoral therapist are available. Each patient consults a private psychiatrist and a private psychologist every day.

No photos may be taken for medical confidentiality.
