Dr. Biva Niak is a Clinical Psychologist with particular interest in working with trauma, self-harming behaviours, grief and loss, and Mood Disorders. Over the years, Dr. Niak has become passionate about improving relationships, working with couples in the varying stages of their relationship.

Dr. Biva Niak's area of expertise:
Individual Psychotherapy
Dr Biva Naik works collaboratively with patients to help them discover, build and experience the kind of life they hope for. In therapeutic space, she works together with patients, to find alternatives to unwanted patterns of behaviours, thoughts, emotions and interpersonal relationships. Psychotherapy brings into focus what is important to patients, their desired future and their strengths and resources. Her treatment techniques include EMDR, Brainspotting, BWRT and DBT. She also runs DBT adult and adolescent groups.
Couple Psychotherapy
Dr Biva Niak provides couple therapy such as pre-marital therapy, couples in distress, and divorcing couples. With couples therapy, she uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Through this, her expertise assists couples manage conflict, understand their attachment patterns, track their negative communication cycle and deepen intimacy.
Mood, Anxiety Disorders
Depression, Anxiety Disorders like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Panic Disorder, as well as Bipolar are a few of the conditions that fall into this area of mental illness.
