Introduction:
Hailing from Uganda, Psychiatrist, Dr. Miriam Kato-Kalule has worked in private practice for approximately 22 years. Throughout her career, Dr. Kato-Kalule has done it all—from teaching to consulting. Now her special interests include Psychosis Disorders and disorders secondary to a general medical condition
Short summary:
Dr. Kato-Kalule’s journey was always going to lead her to ZwavelStream Clinic. Starting as a junior doctor at Butabika Psychiatric Hospital in Uganda, she then made her way to Kenya, Transkei, Ciskei, and East London to name a few areas. She obtained her fellowship degree in Psychiatry at Wits University.
Dr. Kato-Kalule held a consultant & leadership post in the Department of Psychiatry where she taught undergraduate and post graduate students, was involved in outpatient clinics, and worked in forensic psychiatry. She undertook clinical research studies. The main aspect of her approach to adult psychiatry is one of holistic treatment and care tailored to the individual’s specific needs.
