Dr Pierre Malherbe is involved in the academic setting as a speaker and writer for academic publications and also runs the student mental health clinic of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pretoria. He is in full time private practice with rooms in Pretoria and Secunda.
Dr Pierre Malherbe completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Pretoria. He gained experience in mental health in various community care settings and at 1 Military Hospital before specialising in psychiatry at the University of Pretoria under Professor Louw Roos. Here he attained an MMed degree with distinction and finished top of his class in the College of Psychiatry fellowship examinations.

Depression and Anxiety Disorders like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Panic Disorder, as well as Bipolar are a few of the conditions that fall into this area of mental health disorder
Dr Pierre assists in treating various anxiety disorders characterised by feelings of worry, anxiety or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one's daily activities. Symptoms include stress and the inability to set aside a worry and restlessness.
Pain disorders are associated with psychological factors. Some types of mental or emotional problems can cause, increase or prolong pain.
