Dr Pierre Malherbe completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Pretoria. He gained experience in mental health in various community care settings and at 1 Military Hospital before specialising in psychiatry at the University of Pretoria under Professor Louw Roos. Here he attained an MMed degree with distinction and finished top of his class in the College of Psychiatry fellowship examinations.
