Introduction:
Dr Wium Erasmus practices as a general specialist psychiatrist treating a wide array of psychiatric disorders. He manages and assists in all aspects of the patient’s life to benefit the quality of life. He utilises a multi-disciplinary team to achieve this balanced approach. He believes that the patient should be empowered through education to take control of and improve their lives.
Short summary:
Dr Erasmus started his medical career as a general practitioner with a special interest in children with ADHD and developmental problems. He then went on to complete his specialist psychiatric training at the University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg and was the recipient of the SASOP, Southern Gauteng subgroup, Bernard Janse van Rensburg research award. He treats all psychiatric conditions but has a special interest in adolescent and adult ADHD and Autism for which he is often invited, and has given numerous talks and lectures.
